We’re not even 100 days in to the Trump Presidency, and already we’re seeing the effects of anti-worker policies pushed by the White House and GOP Congress. The result of these policies? According to the Economic Policy Institute (EPI), they’re undercutting wages and basic protections for working people on the job.
Former Labor Secretary and fellow Californian Robert Reich has been keeping a close eye on President Trump’s follow-through on the many campaign promises he made to American workers. So far, the scorecard is pretty dismal.
Seems like every day there’s a tidal wave of information coming out about the efforts of the GOP Congress and Trump Administration to undermine working people. From taking away the health insurance of millions of Americans, to giving Wall Street bankers the keys to our economy to threatening the basic rights of workers, it can be overwhelming to keep up.
In an effort to help inform and give folks ways to act, today we launch CantTrumpCalifornia.com, a site devoted to giving Californians the information and tools they need to fight the onslaught of attacks.
Take note, elected officials: working people are organized and ready to mobilize for our healthcare! With a President who took office insistent on dismantling the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare) without any feasible replacement option, California’s working people didn’t waste a second to take action. Rain or shine, working people have turned out in record numbers throughout the state to send a clear message to their elected officials: don’t cut our healthcare!
